1. In France and Italy, people often shop daily for fresh bread, fruit, and vegetables. In the U.S., shoppers usually buy groceries for a whole week at once.

2. Stores place expensive or branded products at eye level, and cheaper ones are usually down low or up high.

3. Saturday and Sunday are the busiest grocery days — which is why stores often schedule big sales then.

4. Slow, relaxing music encourages people to walk slowly… and spend more time in the store.

3. Grocery Store Dialogue

👩 Hey! Long time no see. Stocking up today?
🧑 Yeah, trying to. I’ve totally run out of snacks at home. Thought I’d pick up some groceries before the weekend rush hits.
👩 Smart move. Saturdays here are a madhouse.
🧑 Tell me about it. Last time I came on Sunday, I spent half an hour just waiting at the checkout.
👩 Yeah… So, what are you looking for today?
🧑 A little bit of everything—some fresh stuff from the produce section, maybe some cheese from the deli counter. Oh, and is the ice cream on sale this week?
👩 Yep! It’s actually BOGO. People are grabbing them like crazy.
🧑 Nice. That’s a steal. I’ll grab a few tubs before they’re gone.
👩 Also, don’t forget to check the expiration dates. Last week someone grabbed yogurt that went bad and came to complain.
🧑 Thanks, that’s a good call. You always save me.
👩 That’s what I’m here for, right?. See you at the checkout in a bit?
